Overall Rating
Over the past few years, Google has been slowly weaving AI into the way people use their phones and laptops every day. What once felt like small updates is now turning into a much bigger shift in how devices work together. That direction became clearer at The Android Show: I/O Edition 2026, where Google showcased its latest Gemini Intelligence updates across Android, Chrome, and upcoming devices.

TL;DR

  • Google expands Gemini Intelligence across Android, Chrome, and future devices.
  • New features bring automation, smart browsing, and custom widget creation.
  • Rollout starts on select Pixel and Samsung devices, with wider release planned later.

Gemini Intelligence For Smarter, Proactive Devices

TechDogs - "Android With Gemini Intelligence"
As Android evolves from a traditional operating system into a more intelligent platform, Google is introducing Gemini Intelligence to make everyday tasks simpler and more connected. The update brings automation, smarter assistance and cross-app actions to Android devices, starting with selected Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones.

The rollout begins with the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones, with wider availability planned across Android devices including watches, cars, glasses and laptops.

Gemini Intelligence can automate multi-step tasks across apps, helping users complete actions like bookings or information gathering using screen and image context.

Google is also introducing Create My Widget, allowing users to build custom widgets using simple natural-language prompts. For example, users can say, “Find a tour like this on Expedia for a group of six.” The update also introduces a refined interface built on Material 3 Expressive for a cleaner experience.

Gemini In Chrome For Intelligent Browsing On Android

TechDogs - "Gemini In Chrome To Android"
Google is expanding how AI works inside its browser, bringing new Gemini-powered features to Chrome on Android. The update is aimed at making everyday browsing more useful, helping users handle searches, tasks, and information without constantly switching between apps.

With Gemini in Chrome, users can get help directly while viewing a webpage. It can summarize articles, answer questions, and explain complex topics in real time. The assistant also connects with Google apps, allowing actions like adding calendar events or pulling details from Gmail without leaving the page.

The update also introduces “auto browse,” which can complete simple online tasks such as booking parking or updating subscriptions using relevant information from confirmations or orders.

Google says the rollout will begin next month on select Android 12+ devices in the U.S., with access for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers for advanced features.

Googlebook For Next-Gen AI Laptops

TechDogs - "Googlebook For Gemini Intelligence"
Google is moving deeper into AI-powered computing with a new laptop concept designed around its Gemini Intelligence system.

The company says the upcoming devices, called Googlebook, aim to blend Android apps, ChromeOS capabilities, and Gemini’s AI features into a single, more connected experience across devices.

The company positions Googlebook as the next step after Chromebook, shifting from a cloud-first model to an intelligence-led approach. Built using parts of the Android tech stack, the laptops are designed to work closely with phones and other connected devices.

A key feature is “Magic Pointer,” which adds AI assistance directly into the cursor so users can perform actions like scheduling meetings or combining visuals on screen.

Google says the laptops will be developed with partners including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo, with a range of designs planned for launch.
