Google Is Bringing Gemini’s GenAI Capabilities To Advertisers and Enterprises!

In the last few weeks, the tech conglomerate poured in €25 million (about $27 million) to boost AI skills across Europe. Right before this move, Google rebranded its GenAI chatbot Bard to Gemini and launched more powerful AI models on the platform.
Safe to say, Google is looking to move to the next chapter through its GenAI efforts.
The latest Gemini Pro model was even used to deconstruct and analyze a video created by rival OpenAI’s text-to-video generator, Sora, eventually labeling the video “fake”.
Prior to this, the technology giant also unveiled its own text-to-video diffusion model, Lumiere.
Now, the company is bringing its GenAI capabilities to more of its products with two key announcements made in the same week!
So, what did Google launch and how will businesses benefit? Let’s explore!
What Is Google Bringing To Enterprises?
-
As per a blog post released by Aparna Pappu (GM and Vice President, Google Workspace) on February 22, 2024, Google Workspace will now make enterprise-grade Gemini available for teams of all sizes.
-
After rebranding Bard as Gemini and unveiling new models called Gemini, the company’s Duet AI for Google Workspace will now be called Gemini for Google Workspace, which will give its customer access to Google’s most capable AI models.
-
“Gemini for Workspace will also include a new standalone experience that allows users to chat with Gemini and features enterprise-grade data protections. This new experience begins rolling out today,” read the blog post.
-
Gemini for Workspace will be available in two plans, a Gemini Enterprise add-on (which replaces Duet AI for Workspace Enterprise) and a new Gemini Business add-on (which extends access for teams and organizations of all sizes getting started with GenAI with a lower price point).
-
According to a research study commissioned by Google Cloud and conducted by Morning Consult in December 2023 that included 1,000 small businesses in the US (300 sole proprietors, 400 VSBs, 300 SMBs), “88% of SMB customers expressed interest in working with generative AI to assist them with data analysis, task management, email drafting, customer support and more.”
-
The Gemini Enterprise plan will also include AI-powered meetings that could translate captions in 100+ language pairs and soon take meeting notes.

What Is Google Bringing To Advertisers?
-
As per a blog post released by Pallavi Naresh (Group Product Manager, Google Ads) also on February 22, 2024, the company is bringing its Gemini models to its Performance Max platform, which is a goal-based campaign type that allows performance advertisers to access all their Google Ads inventory from a single campaign.
-
Highlighting the platform’s effectiveness, the company said, “We found that advertisers who improve their Performance Max Ad Strength to “Excellent” see 6% more conversions on average.”
-
Thus, Google is bringing several new features to help advertisers scale and build high-quality assets.
-
Having announced the launch of AI-powered asset generation, Google is now rolling out the feature globally in English, with more languages to follow.
-
Ahead of this, Image editing will complete rolling out in the US in March, with the global expansion of English following soon.
-
These asset generation capabilities will be strengthened by Gemini and will be able to generate long headlines, while sitelink generation will come soon.
-
Ahead of this, the blog said, “Soon, when we upgrade our image generation models to Imagen 2, adapted for Google Ads, you’ll be able to generate lifestyle imagery using Performance Max that shows people in action. Similarly, image editing will also include the ability to generate and add backgrounds that feature people.”
-
Advertisers will also be able to generate and review images similar to existing ones that are performing well.
While Google is making big strides in the GenAI space, it is also on the receiving end of some unfortunate developments regarding its Gemini text-to-image generator.
Google announced that it has paused the feature, after being called out by users for inaccuracies in historical pictures, bringing up the question of misinformation and false information in AI-generated content again.
Do you think Google’s latest move will help it grow further among advertisers and enterprises? Do you think AI companies need stricter and more thorough testing methods for AI solutions?
