Einride To Go Public In $1.8 Billion SPAC Deal As It Expands Electric Freight Operations In Norway
Updated on Mon, Nov 17, 2025
That’s where Einride’s (a Swedish autonomous trucking company’s) latest moves matter. They’re glimpses of how goods, packages, and supplies might move around the world sooner than we think.
Last month, Einride raised $100 million from existing and new investors, which was a funding round that pushed its valuation past $1 billion and strengthened its position in the rapidly evolving autonomous freight sector. Just days later, the company announced two major developments:
Einride will go public via a SPAC merger at a $1.8 billion valuation, and in parallel, it is doubling its electric freight operations with PostNord in Norway, reinforcing its momentum in sustainability and automation.
So, what is Einride planning next, and how do these announcements redefine the future of electric and autonomous logistics?
Let’s explore!
Einride To Go Public At A $1.8 Billion Valuation
The listing comes at a pivotal moment for autonomous trucking, following past SPAC challenges in the EV sector, yet Einride stands apart with proven commercial traction, regulatory approvals, and a growing contracted ARR of $65 million.
Founded in 2016, the company specializes in digital, electric, and autonomous freight technology, offering both Freight-Capacity-as-a-Service (FCaaS) and SaaS solutions through its proprietary operating platform, Einride Saga.
Einride operates across seven countries, serving more than 25 enterprise customers, including GE Appliances and Apotea. Its electric fleet has completed over 11 million zero-emission miles and 350,000 shipments, maintaining a 99.7% on-time performance rate.
The company’s autonomous technology stack, built entirely in-house, powers its cableless heavy-duty vehicles, which became the first in the world to receive public road permits in both Europe (2019) and the U.S. (2022).
Einride’s regulatory wins are supported by a zero-incident safety record, a multimodal perception stack (including LiDAR, radar, and cameras), and a dual-path software system that combines deep learning and deterministic rule-based safety layers.
According to CEO Roozbeh Charli, “This transaction marks a defining moment for the future of freight technology. We’ve built the foundation—now we scale.”
The merger is expected to close in the first half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals and shareholder votes.
As Einride prepares its public debut, the company is simultaneously accelerating its operational footprint through strategic partnerships.
Einride Doubles Electric Operations With PostNord In Norway
The initiative deepens a collaboration established in 2023, where both companies operated 1,500 fossil-free kilometers per day, leading to an estimated 2,100 tonnes of CO₂e savings over three years.
The expanded operations will use Einride’s connected electric trucks powered by the Einride Saga AI planning system, which optimizes routing, charging, and real-time energy consumption.
The move supports PostNord’s goal of becoming 100% fossil-free by 2030, making Norway one of the world’s fastest-growing markets for zero-emission heavy-duty freight.
“Norway continues to lead by example in the transition to electric transportation,” said Einride CEO Roozbeh Charli. “This expansion shows the long-term potential within our existing customer portfolio.”
May-Kristin S. Willoch, Head of Environment & DPO at PostNord Norway, stated, “With this expansion, a majority of our regional fleet is now fully electric—meaningfully accelerating our sustainability roadmap.”
The companies also recently celebrated a major milestone: the world’s first cableless, electric, autonomous cross-border delivery, completed in September 2025 under the EU-supported MODI Project.
The route—conducted between Sweden and Norway with no human onboard—demonstrated how autonomous trucks can integrate into real-world customs clearance and cross-border freight operations.
Considering all that has happened, do you think Einride’s public listing and expansion of its Nordic footprint will help it challenge global players in the autonomous trucking race?
