ServiceNow Brings New AI Agents For Enterprises Amid $2.85 Billion Moveworks Purchase & More
Updated on Thu, Mar 13, 2025
AI agents are designed to execute complex real-world tasks independently (without relying on human intervention). They can be built to address specific processes or operations in diverse industries while providing focused and dedicated outputs.
From OpenAI to Manus and all the other generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) firms, all the technological businesses are focusing their energies on AI agents. This also expands to cloud computing companies such as Microsoft and Oracle, which offer other enterprises software solutions, applications, and platforms to expedite a wide range of tasks.
Adding to this list is ServiceNow, a leading cloud computing platform provider that enables the creation and management of automated business workflows.
Over the last few days, ServiceNow has made various moves to enhance its AI agent offerings.
On March 12, 2025, ServiceNow unveiled its new Yokohama platform release, which is designed to advance automation, governance, and workflow intelligence and help businesses navigate operational complexity.
The Yokohama release aims to enable businesses to accelerate application development, improve workflow performance, and enhance customer experiences, all while reducing complexity and inefficiencies, strengthening decision-making, boosting experiences, and accelerating productivity.
“With the Yokohama platform release, ServiceNow helps our customers take action—giving businesses the ability to move faster, innovate smarter, and scale seamlessly,” said Jon Sigler, EVP of Platform and AI at ServiceNow. “The ServiceNow Platform unites people, processes, and data in a single system of action, transforming complexity into clarity and making business transformation readily achievable.”
The new features are generally available in the ServiceNow Store, which also sees the availability of the previously revealed AI Agent Studio, which will allow users to create and edit AI agents more easily.
It comes with ServiceNow Studio, which is a unified, AI‑powered environment that revolutionizes development on the ServiceNow Platform for no‑code, low‑code, and pro‑code developers.
The move adds to ServiceNow’s portfolio of thousands of AI agents available for enterprises across sectors such as CRM, IT, HR, finance, and more, and as businesses race to unlock the full potential of agentic AI.
“Agentic AI is the new frontier. Enterprise leaders are no longer just experimenting with AI agents; they're demanding AI solutions that can help them achieve productivity at scale,” said Amit Zavery, President, Chief Product Officer, and COO at ServiceNow. “ServiceNow’s industry‑leading agentic AI framework meets this need by delivering predictability and efficiency from the start.”
In a bid to further strengthen its agentic AI offerings, on March 11, 2025, ServiceNow announced it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Moveworks—an AI company that provides organizations with an agentic AI assistant that connects all enterprise systems.
The deal is set for $2.85 billion in cash and stock (subject to customary purchase price adjustments) and is expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
Through the deal, ServiceNow will be able to combine agentic AI and automation strengths with Moveworks’ front‑end AI assistant and enterprise search technology, unlocking new experiences for employees. It will also help ServiceNow accelerate the enterprise adoption of its agentic AI ServiceNow Platform.
“With the acquisition of Moveworks, ServiceNow will take another giant leap forward in agentic AI‑powered business transformation,” added Amit Zavery.
“Becoming part of ServiceNow presents an incredible opportunity to accelerate our innovation and deliver on our promise through their AI agent‑fueled platform to redefine the user experience for employees and customer service teams,” said Bhavin Shah, Co‑founder and CEO, Moveworks.
Prior to this, ServiceNow also announced the introduction of AI agents for the telecom industry.
Additionally, DXC Technology—a leading Fortune 500 global technology services provider—revealed new offerings with ServiceNow aimed at modernizing the insurance industry. This will also see DXC combine its industry‑leading solutions and ServiceNow's AI capabilities and workflows to introduce DXC Assure BPM (Business Process Management), which will be powered by ServiceNow.
Do you think these moves will help ServiceNow challenge its competitors for a top spot in the AI-enabled cloud computing market?
