OpenAI Partners With Accenture, Thrive For Enterprise AI & NORAD For Christmas

‘Tis the beginning of December, and that means that the holiday season is upon us.

While it may not be Christmas yet, OpenAI has had a good year.

Its ChatGPT chatbot remains the top-used AI tool with 800 million active weekly users.

Although when it comes to the enterprise AI sector, the company faces stiff competition from Anthropic, which enjoys an edge over the ChatGPT maker.

However, OpenAI isn’t one to back off from a fight, and has just announced two major deals that are set to strengthen its position in the enterprise AI realm.
 

OpenAI Partners With Accenture

OpenAI is partnering with Accenture to help enterprises bring agentic AI capabilities into their core processes.

The agreement will also see Accenture equip tens of thousands of its employees with ChatGPT Enterprise to enhance its consulting, operations, and delivery work.

This will also allow Accenture to apply its expertise to bring clients new solutions focused on key corporate functions and help them scale their own adoption, as well as help OpenAI scale its capabilities to enterprises.

“By combining OpenAI’s breakthrough technologies with Accenture’s deep industry and functional expertise and global delivery capabilities, we will accelerate enterprise reinvention and business outcomes for our clients,” said Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture. 

The move will see OpenAI become one of Accenture’s primary AI partners in its AI-powered services, making it the company with the largest number of professionals upskilled through OpenAI Certifications.  

A new flagship AI program will combine OpenAI’s enterprise products with Accenture’s AI expertise and domain knowledge to improve AI adoption across the company. It will also bring Accenture the latest OpenAI implementation playbooks, industry use-cases, security and deployment insights, and hands-on expertise.

“The goal of the program is to enable joint clients to adopt OpenAI’s agentic capabilities—innovative products, model advances and new workflows—faster and with deeper integration across their organizations,” said OpenAI.

 

OpenAI Gets Ownership Stake In Thrive Holdings

To accelerate enterprise AI adoption, OpenAI and Thrive Holdings are partnering.

The deal includes OpenAI picking up an ownership stake in exchange for embedding research, product, and engineering teams within Thrive Holdings’ companies. The idea is to boost speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency while strengthening service quality through a repeatable model that can be applied in other industries.

The two will collaborate to drive direct, scalable impact across core enterprise operations, beginning with accounting and IT services as they run high-volume, rules-driven, workflow-heavy processes that can deliver immediate results.

OpenAI Teams Up With NORAD

While it may not be Christmas yet, OpenAI is fitting into the holiday spirit by teaming up with NORAD to create three simple holiday tools within ChatGPT.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a binational command of the United States and Canada that maintains control and issues warnings of threats faced from aerospace and maritime vehicles, defending North American airspace from threats by aircraft, missiles, and space vehicles.

The same organization tracks Santa Claus’s⁠ journey across the globe through its annual NORAD Tracks Santa program, which “has always been about wonder and connection” and is followed by millions of families worldwide.

OpenAI’s tools will add to the festivities by providing parents and Christmas enthusiasts with intuitive, fun, and easy ways to add to the celebration.

This includes Elf Enrollment⁠, which turns someone’s picture into one of Santa’s elves; Santa’s Toy Lab, which converts a child’s toy into a printable coloring book page; and Christmas Story Creator⁠, which allows users to customize names, places, and other details and make it into a story book.
