Fitbit has introduced a new AI-powered personal health coach, built with Google’s Gemini AI chatbot, acting as your fitness trainer, sleep coach, and wellness advisor all in one.

The company said the goal was to create “a new kind of coach: world-class expertise that’s always available whenever you need it.” Unlike generic advice you might find online, this coach adapts constantly, pulling insights from your personal health data and tailoring guidance to your goals and real-life circumstances.

Set to roll out in October 2025 as part of Fitbit Premium in a redesigned app, the health coach will be available across Fitbit trackers, smartwatches, and Pixel Watches. Users can expect personalized workout plans, real-time adjustments based on daily readiness, and sleep coaching, powered by new AI algorithms, that provide deeper insights into sleep duration, stages, and quality.


Beyond fitness and sleep, the health coach also taps into broader wellness. It can integrate with platforms like Health Connect and HealthKit for data such as weight or glucose levels. That means you can ask it specific questions; whether to spend an extra hour in the morning for rest or exercise, and getting a custom, science-backed answer.

Fitbit said the redesigned app was built with AI coaching at its core, and improvements like clearer data visualization, streamlined layouts, better syncing, and even a dark mode.

To ensure credibility, the company partnered with athlete Stephen Curry and his performance team, along with medical and behavioral experts, emphasizing that its approach to AI will stay rooted in science.

While health is one piece of the puzzle, Google is also reimagining how Gemini can help in everyday interactions.
 

Gemini Live With Visual Guidance And Smarter App Integrations

Launched last year with Pixel 9, Gemini Live was built to hold natural, free-flowing conversations. Since then, Google has expanded it to more countries and languages, added app integrations, and even introduced the ability to show Gemini what you see by sharing your camera or screen. Now, the company is rolling out a major update that makes the assistant more visual, expressive, and connected.


One of the standout features is visual guidance. When you share your camera, Gemini can highlight objects directly on your screen, making problem-solving more interactive. Picture Gemini pointing out the right tool in a cluttered toolbox or helping you decide which sneakers work best with your outfit. It will debut on the Pixel 10 smartphones on August 28, reaching other Android devices and iOS shortly after.

Deeper Google app integrations are also arriving, as Gemini Live can now pull data from Calendar, Keep, and Tasks, with Messages, Phone, Clock, and improved Maps support on the way. That means you can manage appointments, create shopping lists, or send quick updates to friends without leaving the conversation.

Finally, Gemini Live is getting an upgrade in its communication. A new audio model allows for more natural rhythm, pitch, and intonation. You’ll even be able to adjust the pace, choose accents, or enjoy creative storytelling.

Beyond digital conversations, Google is also bringing Gemini into the flow of family life, helping manage everything from shopping lists to chores.
 

Gemini For Home

Google Assistant has been in homes for nearly a decade, helping with simple, hands-free tasks like setting timers and reminders, or asking quick questions. Now, Google is phasing it out for something more powerful: Gemini for Home, a next-generation voice assistant built on the same advanced AI models that power Gemini on phones.

Built on Google’s most advanced AI models, it is designed to handle nuanced, conversational requests instead of rigid commands. You’ll still say, “Hey Google” to get started, but interactions promise to feel “fundamentally new.”

The assistant can now manage more complex household tasks with natural user prompts, whether it’s “play the song of the year from 1990” or “play that song from this year’s summer blockbuster about race cars.”


For smart home controls, it can manage layered commands like “dim the lights and set the temperature to 72 degrees,” as well as reasoning-based ones such as “turn off the lights everywhere except my bedroom.”

Gemini for Home isn’t just about smart controls; it is a major step in household help. It can put together detailed shopping lists, set timers while you cook, or drop family events straight into Google Calendar. With Gemini Live built in, it goes even further, helping you cook with what’s in the fridge, fix a faulty appliance, or even spin up bedtime stories.

Early access will roll out in October with both free and paid plans. Eventually, Gemini for Home will replace Google Assistant entirely, signaling a major shift in how Google sees AI shaping everyday home life.
