TL;DR
- IndiaAI Mission and Intel India set a Guinness World Records title for most AI responsibility pledges in 24 hours.
- The campaign promotes ethical and responsible AI use across India.
- Citizens can take an interactive pledge online and receive a digital badge.
India’s flagship IndiaAI Mission, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has set a Guinness World Records title in partnership with Intel India for collecting the most pledges for an AI responsibility campaign within 24 hours. The initiative was launched on February 16 at 8:00 am IST during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
The campaign attempted the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the “Most pledges received for an AI responsibility campaign in 24 hours.” Beyond the record, the larger goal was to get citizens thinking about how AI should be used with a focus on trust, inclusion, accountability and tackling misinformation.
The pledge is hosted on a dedicated portal and it’s more than just a sign-up form. Participants go through short, scenario-based questions that encourage them to reflect on responsible AI behaviour before submitting the final pledge. Once completed, they receive a digital honorary badge issued jointly by IndiaAI and Intel India, along with access to curated government-led AI learning pathways.
Topics For More Insights:
The process has been kept simple and accessible. There are no eligibility barriers, no qualifying marks, and no requirement for microphone or camera access. Users register, verify via OTP through email or phone, answer a few awareness-based questions, and submit the pledge.
The campaign targets students, educators, parents, government officials, industry professionals and citizens across age groups. With a strong push toward youth participation, the initiative highlights India’s effort to build a human-centric AI ecosystem rooted in responsibility and public trust.
