It’s a data-driven world – but you knew that.

Yet, what drives data processes are dedicated software. As time goes on and data technologies advance, enterprises look for software with better features and capabilities.

With the addition of generative artificial intelligence into the business foray, enterprises are on the lookout to exploit Gen AI across their data processes. As a result, software providers must find ways to include such requirements and ensure their products continue to be used by businesses across industries.

Keeping this in mind, Solix Technologies Inc. announced a few upgrades to one of their products that’s set to benefit enterprises in a major way. So, what did the company announce? Let’s explore!

What Did Solix Announce?

  • Solix, a leading provider of cloud data management solutions for enterprises, announced it was releasing its flagship Solix Common Data Platform with a range of updates.

  • The upgrade comes in the form of Solix Common Data Platform 3.0, a multi-cloud, data fabric solution for advanced cloud data management and enterprise AI.

  • The idea behind the upgrade is to offer a safe, secure and properly governed platform for enterprise data across multi-cloud environments, which is “also ‘fit-for-use’ by AI and advanced analytics”.

  • As per the company’s website announcing the upgrade, “The platform now boasts an integrated end-to-end data fabric for advanced cloud data management applications such as enterprise archiving, enterprise data lake, consumer data privacy and enterprise AI.”

  • Furthermore, the platform extends beyond conventional data management with cloud native, W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) open architecture which enables use of open-source solutions such as Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, MLflow, and Llama2.

  • Overall, Solix CDP enables secure and compliant data collection, metadata management and data governance along with AI integrations, while also delivering encryption, data masking, redaction and role-based access control over the data the platform handles.

What Do Solix’s Updates Mean For Data-driven Businesses?

  • According to Sai Gundavelli, CEO of Solix, one of the key focal points of the new platform is “maximizing the potential of generative AI and machine learning” and “extends beyond conventional data management”.

  • The platform supports the end-to-end data fabric requirements of data-driven applications like machine learning and advanced analytics, while offering seamless connectivity, robust data governance, metadata management and advanced search, query and reporting capabilities backed by AI.

  • Furthermore, the upgrade brings in better performance, multi-cloud and SaaS deployment, the integration of advanced security measures, improved access control and audit trails, an innovative archiving process and a user-centric design that offers an easy-to-use interface.

  • Essentially, Solix’s new release offers robust solutions for large-scale enterprises, which is already used by leading companies across insurance, finance, banking, consumer, retail, industrial, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

What Did The Stakeholders Say?

  • Sai Gundavelli, CEO of Solix Technologies, said, “In a world driven by data, our four pillars – connectivity, data governance, metadata management, and data discovery – are crucial services driving cloud data management.”

  • [Contd.] “Solix Common Data Platform is designed to be safe, secure and private, and to maximize the potential of generative AI and machine learning. AI redefines what’s possible, propelling businesses to the forefront, and Solix is focused on delivering the data fabric solutions needed to drive this data-centric future.”

  • Kevin Petrie, VP of Research at Eckerson Group, commended Solix’s updated platform and its added features, saying, “This release from Solix is pretty comprehensive and addresses the primary challenges we see in the public and private sector these days.”

Do you think data management vendors need to release similar updates to remain competitive? Will we see more businesses looking to integrate AI capabilities with their data platforms?
