Veo 3: The Next Generation Of Video Generation With Integrated Audio

Google has introduced Veo 3, a state-of-the-art video generation model that marks a significant leap forward in AI-powered video creation. Building upon the quality of its predecessor Veo 2, this model is the first iteration capable of generating videos with synchronized audio.

This means that a city street scene can now come alive with the sounds of traffic, a serene park can feature birds singing, and characters can even engage in dialogue–all seamlessly integrated into the generated footage.

Veo 3 demonstrates remarkable proficiency across various prompting methods, from text descriptions to image inputs. Users can articulate a short story in their prompt, and Veo 3 will produce a clip that vividly brings that narrative to life.

Veo 3 is currently available to Ultra subscribers in the United States via the Gemini app and Flow (detailed below) and is also accessible for enterprise users on Vertex AI. Veo 3 offers users a powerful way to generate diverse creative and professional visuals.

As AI-generated video reaches new levels of realism and interactivity, Google is turning its focus to static visuals—enter Imagen 4, its next-gen image generation model.

Imagen 4: Elevating Image Quality And Typography

Complementing its advancements in AI-generated video, Google has also unveiled Imagen 4, its latest image generation model, which prioritizes both speed and precision to produce stunning visuals.

Imagen 4 delivers remarkable clarity, capturing intricate details such as fine fabrics, individual water droplets, and the nuances of animal fur with exceptional fidelity. It demonstrates versatility across various artistic styles, from photorealistic renders to abstract compositions.

One of Imagen 4's key improvements lies in its ability to create images in a range of aspect ratios and resolutions up to 2K, making it ideal for high-quality printing or presentations. Furthermore, the model shows significant advancements in spelling and typography, simplifying the creation of personalized greeting cards, posters, and even comics with crisp, accurate text.

Imagen 4 is currently accessible through the Gemini app, Whisk, Vertex AI, and integrated across various Workspace applications like Slides, Vids, and Docs. A faster variant of Imagen 4, promised to be up to 10 times quicker than Imagen 3, is also slated for release soon, enabling even more rapid exploration of creative ideas.

As image and video creation come together, Google is making it easier for creators to bring their ideas to life—turning still images into stories with Flow, a new AI-powered filmmaking tool designed for today’s storytellers.

Flow: AI-Powered Filmmaking For Creators

Google I/O introduced Flow, an innovative AI filmmaking tool designed by and for creatives. Flow is the only AI filmmaking tool custom-designed to integrate seamlessly with Google’s most advanced models, such as Veo, Imagen, and Gemini.

Flow enables effortless, iterative creation by leveraging Veo for exceptional prompt adherence, with stunning cinematic outputs that show a strong understanding of physics and realism.

Flow offers creators easy camera controls, a Scenebuilder for seamless shot editing, and simple asset management to organize content. Its Flow TV feature lets users explore prompts and techniques behind popular Veo-generated videos, making it a valuable learning tool.

Users can also import their own assets to create characters or utilize Flow’s integration with Imagen’s text-to-image capabilities to generate new elements. Once a subject or scene is created, these "ingredients" can be consistently integrated into different clips and scenes, or a scene image can be used as a starting point for a new shot.

Available now to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S., with plans to expand, Flow builds on VideoFX, a Google Labs experiment that launched last year. While still in its early stages, Google plans to collaborate with filmmakers to refine Flow based on their feedback.

Flow is just the beginning—Google is also redefining creativity in music with Lyria 2, a powerful AI tool that opens endless possibilities for composition and musical exploration.

Google’s Lyria 2: Empowering Musicians With AI-Driven Creativity

Expanding its suite of creative AI tools, Google has broadened access to Music AI Sandbox, now powered by Lyria 2. This platform provides musicians, producers, and songwriters with experimental tools that can spark new creative possibilities and facilitate the exploration of unique musical ideas.

Lyria 2 offers powerful composition capabilities and avenues for endless musical exploration, available to creators on YouTube Shorts and for enterprises via Vertex AI.

Additionally, Lyria RealTime, Google’s interactive music generation model that powers MusicFX DJ, has been made available via an API and in AI Studio. Lyria RealTime enables users to interactively create, control, and perform generative music in real time, democratizing musical innovation.

Building on this momentum, Google is now redefining retail experiences with Shop with AI Mode, introducing virtual try-on and intelligent shopping solutions.

Shop With AI Mode: Virtual Try-On And Smart Shopping

Online shopping is set for a major upgrade with Google’s new AI Mode. This smart shopping experience combines vivid visuals, personalized guidance, and accurate product information to make buying easier and convenient. Its intelligent shopping features will be rolling out in AI Mode in the U.S. in the coming months.

TechDogs-"An Image Showing Google’s AI Mode For Shopping"
Google’s AI Mode for shopping uses the power of Gemini and the massive Shopping Graph, packed with over 50 billion product listings from big brands to local shops. Each listing comes with up-to-date details like reviews, prices, colors, and availability, refreshed regularly for accuracy.

For example, searching for a “cute travel bag” will display a personalized selection of options. Narrowing the search to “a waterproof bag with convenient pockets for a rainy trip to Portland” prompts AI Mode to quickly update and present products that match the specific criteria.

The new agentic checkout also makes buying easier, as users can track prices, set size and color preferences, and target price to get alerts when the prices drop. Once confirmed, the system adds the item to the cart and completes checkout securely with Google Pay.

One of the coolest new features is virtual try-on. Just upload a photo, and you can see how billions of clothes might look on you—realistically showing how fabrics move and fit.

Rolling out soon in Search Labs in the U.S., this feature lets you try before you buy, so you can feel confident about your choices. Plus, you can save or share your favorite looks with friends!

With AI Mode reshaping shopping, Google is also bringing Gemini-powered experiences to life through Android XR on smart glasses and headsets.

Android XR: Gemini On Smart Glasses And Headsets

Building on the integration of Gemini with smartphones, watches, TVs, and car displays, Google is now setting its sights on Android XR. This is the first Android platform specifically built for the Gemini era, powering an ecosystem of headsets, glasses, and other extended reality devices.

With Gemini on Android XR devices, users can share their vantage point with an AI assistant on demand. Android XR headsets, such as Samsung’s upcoming Project Moohan, will deliver immersive experiences on an infinite screen, with Gemini enhancing usability by understanding visual context and taking actions on behalf of the user.

Equipped with a camera, microphones, and speakers, these smart glasses work in conjunction with a smartphone, providing access to apps without needing to retrieve the phone from a pocket.

When paired with Gemini, these glasses can see and hear what the user does, understanding context, remembering details, and offering assistance throughout the day.

Google also announced its collaboration with Gentle Monster, Warby Parker, and soon Kering Eyewear to bring stylish Android XR glasses to life. Its expanded work with Samsung will support a full software and hardware platform for XR wearables, with developer tools arriving later this year.

Google’s latest AI innovations aim to simplify daily tasks, spark creativity, strengthen communication, and build a more informed digital world—while staying committed to responsible and transparent development.
