EG Group And Tesla’s Deal Drives Us Towards An Electric Future!
Updated on Tue, Nov 14, 2023
Look who's revving up the electric vehicle landscape – it's none other than EG Group and Tesla! Imagine, Tesla's legendary, lightning-fast Superchargers adored by EV enthusiasts, now available on the streets of the UK and continental Europe. Now, stop dreaming because it’s real!
Yes, you read it right: the British petrol powerhouse and Asda owner, EG Group, has just hit the gas pedal on an electrifying deal as it is all set to buy Tesla ultra-fast chargers. According to reports, “drivers will be able to access the chargers regardless of the brand of vehicle they drive.”
So, what's the sizzling scoop on this latest EV deal?
-
EG Group, led by the dynamic duo Mohsin and Zuber Issa, has snagged Tesla's supercharging units to create a charging escape for all EV drivers, not just Tesla owners.
-
Zuber Issa, one of the driving forces behind EG Group, quoted, "Securing this best-in-class equipment from Tesla marks another milestone for evpoint and is hugely exciting for us."
-
Issa further added, "It is the first deal of its kind entered into by Tesla with a third-party charge point operator in Europe and will transform how our customers charge their vehicles and how they interact with EG. Since installing our first EV charger back in 2012, we have continued to invest in the technology. This deal will accelerate the delivery of vital charging infrastructure for motorists to help power the transition to net zero."
-
Besides, as of October 2023, the UK had approximately 49000 public electric vehicle charging devices. Now, these "open network" Tesla chargers by EG will allow drivers to access them regardless of the vehicle's brand.
Well, seems like the road to net-zero emissions will get a lot smoother. Let's see how Tesla is charging ahead in the EV lane.
-
Rebecca Tinucci, Tesla's maestro of charging infrastructure, enthusiastically quoted, "The rapid installation of reliable, easy-to-use EV charging infrastructure is the right step towards a sustainable future and a key area of focus for us at Tesla."
-
Moreover, Tesla's stocks soared 4.2% after this news broke. Yet, let's not forget, this isn't Tesla's first rodeo.
-
If you remember, the tech giant has already lined up a $100 million sale of their supercharger hardware to BP. Clearly, everyone's racing to join the EV revolution by partnering with Tesla!
-
This deal isn't just a power surge for EG Group; it's a game-changer for the EV community. Reportedly, this collaboration is a fusion of Tesla's supercharging magic with EG Group's commitment to greener roads. They're not just installing chargers; they're installing a faster, more accessible future!
In a nutshell, Tesla and EG Group are teaming up to turbocharge the transition to a cleaner, greener tomorrow. So, this deal isn't just about buying chargers; it's about supercharging the EV experience for everyone!
Do you think this deal will be a game-changer for EV consumers? Will we see Tesla enter the electric vehicle market in Europe through similar partnerships?
