Apple Intelligence

  • Both phones sport Apple’s much awaited Apple Intelligence and represent the first iPhone built specifically for the company's artificial intelligence (AI) platform.

  • The technology is integrated into the core of iPhone through on-device processing and runs on Apple silicon, i.e., Apple’s A18 and A18 Pro chips, which are custom built for Apple Intelligence.

  • Among various improvements, the A18 Pro features a faster 16-core Neural Engine supercharging Apple Intelligence, powerful 6-core CPU and 6-core GPU processing and 20% increase in system memory bandwidth boosts.

  • This chip is significantly faster than those used on previous phones and jumps two generations ahead of the A16 Bionic chip.

  • It even offers 2x faster hardware-accelerated ray tracing than A17 Pro, enabling strong gaming experiences.

  • The powerful AI system will help users write, express themselves and complete tasks effortlessly.

  • Users can leverage the phone’s AI to proofread, rewrite and summarize texts, generate summaries of transcripts and audio recordings and prioritize time-sensitive mails.

  • On the creative end, users can generate custom emojis, create unique images in seconds using descriptions, concepts and even people from photos, as well as remove background objects.

  • One of the more important updates this brings is that to Siri, the on-phone assistant. Siri will be able to provide personal information (if provided beforehand), understand voice commands better (even if users stumble over some words) and provide step-by-step instructions to perform tasks on the phone.

  • Of course, as the company keeps expanding its AI capabilities, users will be offered newer services.

  • It comes with robust security features barring anyone from accessing user data, including Apple.

  • Apple Intelligence will be available in beta on all iPhone 16 models, with Siri and device language set to US English through an iOS 18 update later this fall.
