Mavenir And QCT Introduce Industrial Distributed Unit (DU) Featuring 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors And Intel vRAN Boost, Facilitating High Performance Flexibility For Open RAN Deployments
BARCELONA, Spain--( BUSINESS WIRE )--Mavenir and QCT collaborate with Intel to introduce the QuantaEdge EGX77B-1U short form factor server to support open RAN deployments.
QuantaEdge EGX77B-1U is 4th generation with Intel vRAN Boost and expandable memory for centralized and distributed radio access networks for 4G and 5G services compliant with ORAN, TIP, NEBS GR63 Level 3 and GR3108 Class 2 It is a low profile (300mm), low power consumption, and highly scalable multi-access edge computing server that uses Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Detailed specifications of the EGX77B-1U will be presented at both the Mavenir and QCT booths at Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Mavenir has been working hard with Intel to leverage the benefits and commercialize Intel 4th generation Xeon processors with Intel vRAN Boost. This close collaboration has resulted in extensive optimizations in the latest evolution of DU software, Intel processors, and Intel's FlexRAN reference software across 4G and 5G. These new capabilities and features will be available on DU platforms, including the QuantaEdge EGX77B-1U.
