Did you hear about Tenable's latest technological tango?

Well, they have given ExposureAI a creative AI spin - as it it wasn’t already an awesome cyber defense hero!

Tenable® is widely recognized in the field of Exposure Management to find vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. Tenable One combines vulnerability management with external attack surface management (EASM), identity security, online application and API scanning as well as cloud security data to maintain round-the-clock monitoring, while providing the broadest possible security coverage.

Yet, here’s the big news - recently, the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform received new generative AI capabilities and services – with a new name: ExposureAI.

ExposureAI is powered by Tenable's new Tenable Exposure Graph, a scalable data lake powered by Snowflake. Tenable's Exposure Management offerings are fed by this unified data platform. It identifies over a trillion distinct exposures, IT assets and security findings (vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and identities) across IT, public cloud and 0T environments.

“For years, Tenable has used its market-leading vulnerability management data and applied AI techniques to help organizations prioritize vulnerabilities based on true risk to the business. AI is a part of our DNA,” said Glen Pendley, Chief Technology Officer, Tenable. “Now we’re using generative AI to put more power than ever in the hands of security teams to inform their exposure management programs and root out cyber risk wherever it exists.”

Prepare to cha-cha your way into the specifics and learn all about the move to integrate generative AI:

What Was The Motivation Behind Integrating Generative AI?

Security teams have struggled to cope with the scale of cyber threats and prevent them in time. Organizational security has generally been in reactive mode due to the time and effort required to analyze, understand the findings and decide what steps must be taken to remediate and decrease risk.

Almost six out of ten (58%) cybersecurity and IT professionals think their team is too busy responding to catastrophic incidents to focus on prevention. If their company could allocate more resources to preventive cybersecurity, 73% of cybersecurity and IT professionals said their defenses would be more effective. This led to the integration of Gen AI within the platform so automated tasks would enable IT and security teams to better manage the cybersecurity outlook.

How Is Tenable Taking Advantage Of Generative AI?

To effectively utilize AI, one must have access to data and the knowledge to interpret it. Tenable has been using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to assist organizations in prioritizing vulnerabilities based on genuine danger to the business ever since it introduced its dynamic Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR) in 2019. Tenable Research has also released free research tools developed with generative AI for the cybersecurity community.

Tenable is utilizing generative AI to give security teams more control over processes than ever before, allowing them to be more productive and dedicate more resources to thwarting attacks. Insights generated by Tenable ExposureAI can also help simplify exposure management and transform your analysts into seasoned business protectors. As a cornerstone of exposure management programs, Tenable ExposureAI introduces three new classes of preventive security capabilities, based on generative AI:

  • Search

Allows security teams to conduct asset and exposure analyses throughout their environments, as well as grasp relevant contextual information and prioritize remediation activities using natural language search queries.

  • Explain

Using Tenable's unparalleled exposure data, this gives security teams clear visibility and analysis of complex attack vectors, individual assets and security findings.

  • Action

Security teams may proactively address issues and lower their organization's overall exposure, thanks to the actionable information provided in the "Action" tab.
