President Donald Trump’s smartphone and wireless venture, Trump Mobile, is facing scrutiny after reports emerged that customer information tied to orders for its gold-colored T1 smartphone may have been exposed online.

The issue gained traction after prominent YouTubers Coffeezilla and penguinz0 claimed their personal information was leaked after purchasing the device out of curiosity, not political support.

The reports add to a growing list of problems surrounding Trump Mobile, a brand that initially promised a “Made in the USA” smartphone experience but has since faced criticism over delayed deliveries, questionable marketing claims, and technical hiccups linked to the ordering process.

TL;DR

  • Trump Mobile customers reportedly had personal information exposed online.
  • YouTubers Coffeezilla and penguinz0 say their addresses and emails were leaked.
  • Researchers allegedly failed to get a response from Trump Mobile about the issue.
  • Reports suggest only around 30,000 T1 phone orders may exist.
  • The T1 smartphone has faced criticism over branding, design, and launch issues.

Trump Mobile Data Leak Raises Questions Around Customer Privacy

The controversy surfaced after YouTubers Coffeezilla and penguinz0 revealed that a researcher contacted them with access to customer information linked to Trump Mobile orders.

“I know that because sadly I am one of those customers whose mailing address, email address, you know, everything short of credit card number is being leaked,” said Coffeezilla, who is widely known for investigating cryptocurrency scams and online fraud schemes.

According to both creators, the researcher shared their personal information directly to prove the exposure was real. They also claimed the issue remains unresolved because attempts to contact Trump Mobile allegedly resulted in “radio silence.”

The two declined to explain the exact method used to access the data, stating that revealing those details could make the situation worse while the exposed information remains publicly accessible online.

Trump Mobile did not respond to requests for comment regarding the claims.

Trump Mobile T1 Phone Faces Growing Criticism Beyond Security Issues

The latest controversy compounds existing concerns surrounding the Trump Mobile T1 smartphone launch.

Originally marketed as a “Made in the USA” device, the branding language appears to have shifted over time. Reports indicate newer marketing materials now describe the phone as being “designed with American values in mind” and “shaped by American innovation,” a noticeable departure from earlier messaging.

The smartphone has also attracted criticism for its physical design. Some observers noted that promotional images featured an American flag with 11 stripes instead of 13, while others pointed out similarities between the T1 and older HTC smartphone models, fueling speculation that the device may simply be a rebranded handset.

Questions have also emerged around actual consumer demand for the product.

Coffeezilla said identifiers linked to the leaked data suggest that roughly 30,000 customers may have ordered the phone. That figure stands in sharp contrast to earlier estimates that projected nearly 590,000 preorders tied to a $100 reservation fee.

Trump Mobile Launch Problems Continue To Pile Up

The T1 smartphone’s rollout has struggled almost since launch day.

Reports previously highlighted problems with Trump Mobile’s ordering infrastructure, including failed checkout pages and incorrect billing amounts during preorder attempts.

Now, with allegations of exposed customer information entering the spotlight, the company faces a more serious challenge tied to trust and privacy, particularly at a time when consumers are increasingly sensitive about how brands handle personal data online.

The controversy could also place additional pressure on Trump Mobile’s efforts to position itself as a legitimate challenger in the competitive mobile device and wireless market, where reliability, transparency, and cybersecurity protections remain critical differentiators for consumers.
