Samsung has introduced its intelligent eyewear at Galaxy Unpacked in London, extending the Galaxy ecosystem beyond smartphones and watches through Gemini-powered assistance, a built-in camera, all-day battery performance and designer frames intended for everyday use.

Samsung introduced the eyewear on July 22, building on the concepts it previously demonstrated with Google at Google I/O 2026. The company said the new form factor is designed to support daily routines, work, travel and other moments where reaching for a phone may be inconvenient.
The eyewear runs on the Android XR platform developed by Google, Samsung and Qualcomm. It uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform to support real-time AI performance, connectivity, touch interactions, power efficiency and thermal management within a compact frame.
“Intelligent eyewear creates a new point of interaction,” said Won-Joon Choi, Chief Operating Officer of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business.
According to Choi, the device is intended to bring personalized AI assistance into ordinary moments as agentic AI makes mobile experiences increasingly responsive to a user’s context.
Gemini Extends Galaxy AI Beyond The Smartphone
The intelligent eyewear acts as a hands-free companion to a connected mobile device. Users can ask Gemini about their surroundings, receive directions, locate nearby destinations and understand signs or objects visible through the built-in camera.
It can also summarize lengthy messages, read important information aloud and support live translation. Google said the glasses can translate spoken conversations while recreating elements of the speaker’s tone and pitch, or translate text found on menus and signs.
The eyewear can capture whiteboards or meeting discussions and organize key details in Samsung Notes. Users can later review, share or follow up on the recorded information through compatible Galaxy devices and Samsung services.
Live visual sharing allows wearers to show another person what they are seeing during a call. The device can also record first-person photos and videos without requiring the user to hold a smartphone. Availability may vary by application, market and local consent requirements.
Google’s Sameer Samat said the companies share a goal to “bring helpful and context-aware intelligence into everyday life.”
The eyewear offers up to nine hours of use on a single charge, although actual performance will depend on applications, connectivity and settings. Its charging case can provide as many as seven additional full charges, potentially extending use across several days away from a power outlet.
Samsung Makes Design Central To Smart Eyewear
Samsung collaborated with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to make the technology resemble conventional eyewear rather than a conspicuous computing device.
The Gentle Monster edition uses a slim black frame with a straight upper rim and softly rounded lower edges. Warby Parker’s version features a rich brown finish and a subtly upswept brow line intended to work across everyday settings.
