Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen testing an indigenous AI-powered wearable, Sarvam Kaze, during his visit to the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The spectacles-style device, developed by Sarvam AI, drew attention as the Prime Minister experienced its live, voice-enabled AI features firsthand.
Sarvam Kaze is designed as a lightweight, spectacles-style wearable that enables users to interact with artificial intelligence using voice commands. The device can listen to conversations, process contextual cues, and deliver instant responses. It also supports customizable user experiences through the company’s Sarvam platform, which powers a broader suite of India-focused AI models.
According to Sarvam AI, the wearable is built and designed in India, aligning with the government’s push to promote domestic innovation under its digital and AI development initiatives.
The wearable functions as a real-time AI assistant, capable of answering queries, offering contextual information, and potentially integrating with productivity and communication workflows.
While full technical specifications were not disclosed at the event, Sarvam AI emphasized that the device is optimized for voice-first interactions, aiming to reduce dependency on traditional smartphone screens.
The India AI Impact Expo 2026 has positioned itself as a platform to showcase domestic AI breakthroughs across sectors such as governance, healthcare, agriculture, and enterprise automation. The Prime Minister’s engagement with Sarvam Kaze signals continued governmental interest in advancing indigenous AI hardware and software capabilities.
Sarvam AI announced that Sarvam Kaze will be commercially available starting May 2026. Pricing details and distribution channels are expected to be revealed closer to launch.
