As the artificial intelligence (AI) industry keeps growing and new players come into the limelight, established companies must continue to develop, progress and deploy advanced products and services to stay ahead of the game.

This includes offering unique, powerful and capable products and services, as well as partnering and collaborating with other companies in the sector.

In this regard, NVIDIA came out with two announcements mentioning different avenues of partnerships with leading companies in the industry, to offer mutually beneficial advantages.

So, what did the AI technology leader reveal? Let’s explore!

What Is The NVIDIA And Microsoft Collaboration About?

  • As per a blog post published on its website, NVIDIA announced it was expanding its collaboration with Microsoft.

  • The new collaboration between the two companies will focus on helping developers build and deploy artificial intelligence applications faster.

  • This includes optimizations and integrations enabling the creation of high-performance artificial intelligence apps for PCs powered by NVIDIA GeForce RTX and NVIDIA RTX GPUs.

  • This will bring faster inference performance for large language models and optimized performance on RTX GPUs for AI models, while the two companies collaborate to scale performance on more than 100 million RTX GPUs.

  • Additionally, Microsoft has optimized its AI models to run on NVIDIA GPUs. This includes the Phi-3 of small language models (SLM).

  • Furthermore, Microsoft is expanding its Phi-3 open SLMs by adding small (7-billion-parameter) and medium (14-billion-parameter) models, while also introducing a new 4.2-billion-parameter multimodal model, Phi-3-vision, to support images and text. All of these will be optimized for NVIDIA GPUs.

  • NVIDIA is also bringing its NVIDIA cuOpt, a GPU-accelerated AI microservice for route optimization, to Azure Marketplace.

  • As per the release, “cuOpt features massively parallel algorithms that enable real-time logistics management for shipping services, railway systems, warehouses and factories.”

What Is The NVIDIA And Dell Collaboration About?

  • At Dell Technologies World, Dell’s annual event, NVDIA’s Founder and CEO Jensen Huang joined Michael Dell, the CEO of Dell, along with Bill McDermott, ServiceNow’s CEO and Hwang Sung-woo, Samsung SDS President and CEO, to share insights on the transformative impact of generative AI on the global economy and various industries.

  • This included discussing and sharing details about a collaboration between NVIDIA and Dell - the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, which was announced earlier in the year.

  • The Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA is dubbed as the industry’s first end-to-end enterprise AI solution, which “offers a full stack of AI solutions from data center to edge, enabling organizations to quickly adopt and deploy AI at scale.”

  • The Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA will enhance AI sovereignty for countries, bringing in strong data security and customized AI service development.

  • Furthermore, the factory will include new server, edge, workstation, solutions and services advancements that speed AI adoption and innovation.

  • Dell also introduced new servers that would support NVIDIA’s latest and most powerful Blackwell chips with direct liquid cooling, moving ahead of air cooling that consumes more energy.

  • The factory is designed to simplify and accelerate AI adoption within organizations, even reducing setup time by up to 86% over doing it yourself.

  • It even enables customers to build their own customized AI factories.

  • This collaboration builds on the 25+ year partnership between the two companies, which aimed to boost innovation and deliver powerful platforms, solutions and software.

  • Michael Dell said, “Organizations are moving quickly to capture the AI opportunity, which is why our collaboration with NVIDIA is so important. Our expansion of the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA continues our joint mission – we're making it easy for organizations to implement AI so they can move boldly into this next technological revolution.”

  • Jensen Huang said, “Generative AI requires a new type of computing infrastructure – an AI factory that produces intelligence. Together, NVIDIA and Dell are providing the world's industries with a full-stack offering – including computing, networking and software – that drives the copilots, coding assistants, virtual customer service agents and industrial digital twins of the digital enterprise.”
