A decade ago, talks of Artificial Intelligence seemed like a buzzword of the future, something tucked away in research labs and sci-fi films.

Fast forward to today, and it’s woven into our everyday lives. From recommending what we watch to predicting what we need, AI has become the quiet co-pilot of modern living.

Now, it’s multitasking—acting as a personal shopper, a workplace assistant, an always-available therapist, and even a presentation designer.

Yet, as it pushes the limits of innovation, another side of AI is sparking reflection—resurrecting the dead for viral videos.

Today, this technology continues to dominate headlines and it’s Google leading the charge, as another rising startup joins the momentum.

From Google’s launch of the Gemini Enterprise to presentation-tech startup Prezent raising $30 million for strategic AI acquisitions and AI-generated videos of deceased celebrities, AI continues to trigger global conversations about consent, creativity, and ethics.

So, what made waves in the world of AI?

Let’s explore!

What Did Google Announce?

Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise, calling it “the new front door for AI in the workplace.”

The platform unifies Google’s Gemini models, agent orchestration, and integrations with tools such as Salesforce, Teams, and Jira.

Built on six pillars—brains, workbench, taskforce, connectors, governance, and ecosystem—it allows users to build and manage AI agents without coding. Its early demonstrations showed AI agents performing campaign research, generating social media assets, and creating purchase orders in one seamless workflow.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, described it as a system to “democratize the creation and use of AI-powered agents,” enabling organizations to automate complex workflows.

Early adopters such as Virgin Voyages and Macquarie Bank reported higher productivity and creative independence across teams.

Gemini Enterprise is available globally, starting at $30 per seat per month, while a “Gemini Business” plan for smaller teams begins at $21 per seat.

Along with this groundbreaking move for businesses, Google expanded its AI try-on tool to include footwear, letting users visualize them wearing shoes using a full-length photo.

The system uses generative AI to replace existing shoes in an image with new designs, from sneakers to heels. This builds on its clothing try-on feature, first rolled out in 2024, and will soon expand to Australia, Canada, and Japan.

The new feature marks another step toward personalized, immersive online shopping experiences powered by Google’s visual AI.

This move by Google is driven by calls for consumer innovation in the AI landscape, as new funding and strategic acquisitions seek to address this demand.

What Did Prezent.ai Announce?

California-based startup Prezent, an AI-driven presentation platform, secured $30 million in funding led by Multiplier Capital, Greycroft, and Nomura Strategic Ventures.

The company, now valued at $400 million, plans to use the funds to acquire service-based firms, starting with Prezentium, a presentation company in the life-sciences sector co-founded by Prezent’s own CEO Rajat Mishra.

The acquisition consolidates Prezent’s AI platform and Prezentium’s domain expertise to deliver industry-specific solutions. Prezent plans to expand its buyouts across verticals such as finance, manufacturing, and executive communications, while adding multimodal inputs (text, voice, and video) and AI avatars to its products.

Mishra noted, “AI can’t teach people to use AI—that’s why we embed presentation engineers within enterprises to accelerate adoption.”

Investors believe Prezent’s enterprise-first strategy distinguishes it from consumer-focused AI presentation tools like Gamma or Chronicle.

While AI powers innovation for enterprises and consumers, it’s making headlines, particularly with the rise of deepfakes blurring the line between creativity and consent.

Deepfakes Of Deceased Celebrities Set Off AI Ethics Debate

AI-generated videos using the likenesses of deceased celebrities, produced with AI tools like OpenAI Sora 2, have gone viral, alarming families and raising serious ethical questions.

Disturbing examples include simulations of Kobe Bryant, Tupac Shakur, Michael Jackson, Stephan Hawking and Robin Williams, prompting backlash from fans and relatives alike.

Zelda Williams, daughter of actor Robin Williams, publicly condemned the trend, saying such videos “violate dignity and distort memory.”

Hollywood talent agency CAA warned that these recreations threaten creators’ rights, urging platforms to add consent safeguards, while AI experts call for stronger legislation on digital likeness and posthumous consent protocols.

Amid these growing ethical debates, the AI industry continues to charge ahead with powerful new tool releases. This raises the question...

What Does This Mean For The Future Of AI?

Google’s updates signal the mainstreaming of AI agents and personalization for enterprise productivity with consumer convenience. Moreover, Prezent’s funding shows how startups are unifying domain knowledge with generative AI to speed enterprise productivity.

Yet, the controversy over digital recreations reminds the world that technological progress demands stringent ethical boundaries.

So, do you think the convenience of AI innovations such as Google’s Gemini Enterprise and visual try-ons outweigh the ethical concerns raised by deepfakes? Can Prezent become a leading name in the AI landscape with its ambitious moves?
