Overall Rating
As businesses drive towards digital transformation to enhance their products and services while also improving customer experiences, service providers find the need to upgrade their offerings and stay ahead of competitors.

In this regard, some service providers opt to partner with technology companies to help introduce advanced technology into their solutions.

On the other hand, some choose to acquire niche companies, which is the path that Gamma Communications plc AKA Gamma, a leading provider of technology-based communication services across Europe, has been on, particularly in the last few months.

In its most recent move, Gamma announced that it had acquired privately owned BrightCloud Group Ltd., a leader in contact centers and customer experience.

So, let’s explore how this acquisition will help Gamma grow and enhance its solutions!

What Does Gamma’s Acquisition Of BrightCloud Bring The Company?

  • Through a news release published on its website, Gamma announced that it had acquired BrightCloud Group.

  • The acquisition comes as Gamma looks to expand its contact center (CCaaS) and customer experience (CX) expertise and capabilities.

  • The move will help Gamma push its goal of becoming a leading managed service provider for enterprises across Europe looking to transform their communications estates.

  • Furthermore, it will help Gamma enhance its strategic partnership with Cisco.

  • Gamma has been working with large enterprises and public sector organizations for more than 15 years and offering them CCaaS and UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) solutions, support and managed networking.

  • BrightCloud is Cisco’s leading European Enterprise partner for CCaaS and manages a major portion of contact center installations and Webex CCaaS solutions.

  • The move will help Gamma infuse BrightCloud’s experience in implementations, support and expert services, as well as bring its impressive client list.

  • Gamma will also be able to capitalize on the CX transformation growth opportunity, specifically across the European Enterprise and Public Sectors markets.

What Other Moves Has Gamma Made?

  • A few months ago, Gamma announced that it acquired Coolwave Communications, a prominent international SMS and voice services provider, as it looked to broaden its reach into new regions and gain access to global enablement opportunities.

  • The move would boost Gamma’s global presence and enhance its voice services portfolio.

  • At the time, Mike Mills, Director of Service Providers at Gamma, said, “The acquisition of Coolwave aligns perfectly with our strategy to expand our global footprint and provide world-class voice & SMS services to customers. This move enhances our competitive position and empowers us to offer even more innovative solutions.”

  • A month prior to this, Gamma announced the acquisition of EnableX Group, which consisted of three channel businesses, Pragma, Techland and Candio. The move would enhance Gamma’s ability to bring resellers access to new opportunities across multiple technology areas.

  • Daryl Pile, MD, Gamma Business, said, “We are delighted to welcome EnableX into the Gamma Group. This acquisition significantly expands our channel portfolio providing greater opportunities for our partners to accelerate their growth.”

Do you think these moves will help Gamma grow its customer base and capture a strong position in the CCaaS, UCaaS and CX industries? Do you think its competitors need to make similar moves to remain competitive?
