CISO Sydney 2027 Unveils Agenda Spanning AI-driven Threats, OT Security, Application Security And Identity Management
Updated on Wed, Oct 28, 2026
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — 19 October 2026 — Corinium Global Intelligence has unveiled the agenda for CISO Sydney 2027, alongside three co-located events: OT Security Sydney, AppSec & DevSecOps Sydney, and Identity & Access Management Sydney.
Taking place on 9–10 February 2027 at Royal Randwick Racecourse, Sydney, the four events will bring together cyber security professionals, technology leaders and industry specialists to examine the challenges shaping Australia's cyber security landscape.
With more than 100 speakers and 1100+ attendees expected across the programme, the events will explore how organisations can respond to increasingly sophisticated threats, strengthen cyber resilience and align security strategy with business priorities.
The value of the event is reflected in feedback from returning attendees. Veronica Hobbs of Commonwealth Bank, who has attended CISO Sydney for six years, said:
“I have been attending CISO Sydney for the past six years and always look forward to it. The sessions are informative, covering current industry topics, and the event provides a great opportunity to discover new vendors and products.”
The agenda comes amid a rapidly evolving threat environment. The Australian Signals Directorate's 2024–25 Annual Cyber Threat Report recorded more than 84,700 cybercrime reports, averaging one every six minutes. The average self-reported cost of cybercrime per business report also increased by 50% to $80,850, highlighting the growing importance of effective cyber security strategies and organisational resilience.

Exploring the next wave of cyber security challenges
A featured session, “The New Attacker Advantage: Preparing Australia for Open-Weight AI,” will feature Ciara Spencer, Deputy Secretary Law Enforcement & Domestic Security at the Department of Home Affairs.
The session will examine how increasingly accessible AI capabilities are changing the cyber threat landscape, the implications for Australia's collective defence, and how government and industry can prepare for emerging risks.
The wider CISO Sydney programme will explore four key themes:
-
The Confidence Gap: Making better security decisions and continuously validating security controls as risks evolve.
-
The Attention Economy of Risk: Separating meaningful threat intelligence from noise and prioritising the risks that matter most.
-
Beyond the Illusion of Control: Moving beyond plans and assurances to build resilience that holds under pressure.
-
Operating at Machine Speed: Adapting security operating models and controls as emerging threats accelerate decision-making.
The programme also features security and technology leaders from organisations including NSW Ports, Macquarie Technology Group, Ventia, Adbri, DroneShield, Transport for NSW and Constantinople.
Four events, one connected cyber security community
The co-located programme brings together four complementary events, offering opportunities to explore security challenges across leadership, infrastructure, application development and identity.
CISO Sydney
The flagship event will bring together chief information security officers and senior cyber security leaders to examine security strategy, risk management, emerging threats and the evolving role of the CISO in organisational decision-making.
OT Security Sydney
Focused on operational technology and industrial environments, the event will explore the protection of critical infrastructure, industrial systems and connected operational environments against evolving cyber threats.
AppSec & DevSecOps Sydney
This event will examine application security, secure software development and DevSecOps practices, with a focus on integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle and addressing emerging application and software supply chain risks.
Identity & Access Management Sydney
The event will explore identity security, access governance and authentication strategies as organisations manage increasingly complex digital environments and seek to ensure the right people and systems have appropriate access.
Together, the four events aim to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration, helping security leaders connect strategic priorities with the technical and operational measures needed to manage risk and strengthen resilience.
"Cyber security challenges are too complex to be tackled in isolation. We need to look beyond our own organisations and disciplines and challenge how we approach these problems. Some of the most valuable conversations happen when people with different responsibilities and perspectives come together to work through the same challenges. Our aim is to create space for genuine, honest conversations where security leaders can share their experiences, question existing approaches and learn from one another," said Maddie Abe, Corinium Global Intelligence.
