Temenos Sets A Sustainability Benchmark For Cloud-native Banking With Microsoft
This benchmark shows advancements in Temenos' simplified, more sustainable architecture to manage the varying demands of digital transactions while helping banks achieve their sustainability goals
DUBLIN, Ireland, May 16, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Temenos Community Forum -- Temenos (SIX: TEMN) today announced the results of the sustainability benchmark it set for its native banking platform in cloud and running on Microsoft Azure, demonstrating its effectiveness in managing the varying demands of digital transactions while helping banks achieve their sustainability goals.
Microsoft's benchmark simulated the case of a customer using Tenemos' Retail Enterprise services with 25 million customers and 38 million accounts, processing 12 million loans on a single instance. Having already set a remarkable benchmark record for volume of transactions per second (VTS), this latest benchmark showed the progress of Temenos' simplified and more sustainable architecture, with an efficiency improvement of 52% for workloads tested against the previous version.
Using a 2021 baseline, validated by GoCodeGreen, Temenos has reduced the carbon impact of its software by more than 50%. Improving performance through more efficient code and simplified architecture results in reduced infrastructure demand and necessary processing power and, therefore, energy consumption and carbon emissions . Combined with Temenos' sustainable operations and the sustainability of significant technology partners such as Microsoft, this brings additional environmental benefits for banks that choose to deploy Temenos' solutions in the public cloud or as SaaS. Temenos continually invests in its cloud -native platform to ensure it leverages the latest advancements and innovations from major technology companies.
According to a recent Economist Impact study of 300 banking executives around the world, more than half (51%) of respondents agree that banks will no longer own data centers because they have migrated to the public cloud over the next five years.
Tony Coleman, Director of Technology and Innovation at Temenos, commented: “The sustainability benchmark on Microsoft Azure demonstrates the unrivaled speed and efficiency of Temenos' cloud -native platform. , which helps banks decarbonize their operations and grow their businesses sustainably.
