Inflection AI Appoints Doug Mandell As General Counsel

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Inflection AI, the leading artificial intelligence company building secure AI for the enterprise, today announced the appointment of Doug Mandell as General Counsel. Mandell brings extensive experience scaling global legal operations at high-growth technology companies, having previously served as General Counsel for three technology companies, including an AI-focused enterprise.

Mandell joins Inflection AI from Withers, a global law firm, where he served as senior partner and Global Head of the Founder Practice. His appointment strengthens Inflection's executive team with seasoned legal leadership and startup expertise as the company continues to globally expand and advance its enterprise technology.

Before joining Withers, where he built a significant practice representing over 700 clients in under five years, including numerous founders in the AI sector, Mandell previously founded his own law firm serving as outside general counsel to startups and personally representing founders and executives.

His legal leadership experience includes serving as LinkedIn's first General Counsel, where he worked alongside Inflection co-founder and Chairman Reid Hoffman, and later as General Counsel at Nauto, an AI company that pioneered the use of machine learning algorithms for fleet safety and driver protection well before the current generative AI boom. Mandell has professional history with several members of Inflection's current leadership team, spanning multiple technology ventures including CEO Sean White, Chief Product Officer Ian McCarthy and Chief Operating Officer Ted Shelton.
