Meta Teases Muse Charm, A Palm-sized AI Device For Muse AI Agent

Introduction

If Tamagotchi grew up, got 5G, and learned how to book a restaurant, send an email, and run errands, it might look a little like Meta’s latest experiment.

At Meta Connect 2026, Mark Zuckerberg ended the keynote with Muse Charm, a palm-sized device designed around Meta’s new Muse AI agent. It is roughly the size of an AirPods case, can sit in a pocket or hang from a keychain, and gives users a faster way to speak with Muse without first opening a phone app.

Meta launched Muse on September 8, 2026. Now it is giving that software dedicated hardware.

Meta Muse Charm is a compact handheld device created specifically for interacting with the Meta Muse AI agent.

Meta’s Connect 2026 announcement describes Charm as a pocket-sized device that brings Muse and its real-time voice technology into dedicated hardware. Zuckerberg added that Meta had packed the Muse experience, including real-time voice and avatar features, into something that fits on a keychain and remains ready to talk.


Muse itself can do more than answer questions. Meta says the agent can send emails, book travel, fill out forms, shop, negotiate, remember personal preferences, and continue working after users close the app. It currently runs through the Muse app, WhatsApp, the web, and Mac.

Charm appears to be less about putting a giant AI model directly in your pocket and more about making Meta Muse instantly reachable.

Muse runs in a dedicated cloud environment called Muse Secure VM. Meta says each user’s agent operates inside its own secure virtual machine, while a separate Sentinel agent checks actions that reach the internet.

Charm adds another interface to that system.

Press the fingerprint sensor, speak to Muse, and the agent can respond through its real-time voice system while its avatar reacts on screen. Zuckerberg also positioned Charm as a way to show Muse what is happening around the user, making its cameras useful for visual context.

AI glasses offer hands-free access and can understand what the wearer is looking at. Charm does not require someone to wear glasses all day and can instead be carried like a small personal object.

Zuckerberg framed it directly: if someone is not wearing glasses, Charm is intended to be the fastest way to talk to Muse and show it what is happening around them.

How Much Will The Meta Muse Charm Cost And When Will It Release?

The Meta Charm release date is clearer than its price.

Meta says it plans to have the device ready to ship for the holiday season in December 2026. Zuckerberg acknowledged that the team was still finalizing the layout of components, and reporting from the event indicates only a small number of working units currently exist.

Meta has not announced a retail price.

Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth said the company has not finalized what it will charge. People familiar with the plans told reporters that pricing could fall somewhere in smartwatch territory, but Meta has not confirmed that range.
