Trend 1: The Growing Relevance Of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)

TechDogs-Trend 1: The Growing Relevance Of "Platform-as-a-Service" (PaaS)-2D Image Of Files Transfer On Notebook - PaaS To Increase Growing Need To Minimize Time To Market, Cost Of Application Creation And Streamlining Application Management Are Expected To Drive Market Growth
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) supplies virtualized computing assets over the web. Essentially, it's a category of Cloud Computing service that helps businesses become more efficient and more flexible, ultimately helping them grow. It does this by getting rid of operations that eat up too much time. As such, PaaS solutions are rising in popularity among organizations in 2021 #JerryWouldBeProud.

Amidst the pandemic-ushered fast shift to work-from-home arrangements, PaaS vendors such as Oracle, SAP and Salesforce supplied a critical foundation for business continuity as usual despite the interruptions.

George Burns III, a senior consultant for cloud operations at SPR, a Chicago-based technology modernization organization says “The cloud is being used to facilitate much of our remote work environments, so companies will continue to migrate workloads and begin using more PaaS resources to take maximum financial advantage of these somewhat forced changes.”

According to Gartner, the (PaaS) market is predicted to increase at the rate of 26.6 percent to $55.5 billion. The growing need to minimize time to market, cost of application creation and streamlining application management are expected to drive market growth.

TechDogs' Opinion:  Alright, here's a lowdown on what we believe will happen in the coming year. In 2021, expect to see businesses utilize the different PaaS services that cloud providers will offer. As more companies migrate their IT activities to the cloud in response to COVID-19, the field of PaaS is only likely to grow even more.  As PaaS offerings expand, small and mid-size businesses can take advantage of those new resources to streamline their processes, utilizing those tools to track trends and patterns in their data. As teams seek solutions for storing information and interacting from a remote location, enterprise usage of PaaS systems will also soar.

Trend 2:  More Business Models Focused On Edge Deployment

TechDogs-Trend 2: More Business Models Focused On "Edge Deployment"-3D Image Of Futuristic Blue Cloud With Pixel Digital Transformation Technology-Cloud Technology-New Business Models To Emerge The Deployment Of Edge, Efforts By Cloud Platforms To Compete And AI And 5G Facilitating The Expansion Of Edge Use Cases
Edge computing’s popularity continues to evolve year after year. One of the reasons for its stardom is that it uses a distributed computing paradigm (big words, we know). It basically means that instead of using a centralized server to save the data, it saves information locally (near to data sources).
Companies benefit from this closeness to data in various ways, including increased operational efficiency, rapid insights and reaction time at a greater bandwidth capacity.

Edge computing eliminates the latency difficulties associated with connecting with a central server by putting active management and data storage closer to the source. It also saves bandwidth by storing locally and connects to the cloud only when needed. For businesses dealing with privacy and compliance issues, a locally managed data center means higher information security. A locally managed data center also provides greater information protection for organizations dealing with privacy and regulatory problems. #MoreSecurityLessProblems.

According to Forrester, "In 2021, we will see new business models emerge that facilitate the deployment of edge, efforts by cloud platforms to compete and AI and 5G facilitating the expansion of edge use cases." Edge is gaining even more popularity as conventional on-premises IT infrastructure providers like IBM, HP and Dell seek to deliver models and solutions that allow seamless cloud connectivity while also reducing latency and increasing security.

Research by TechRepublic states that experts in the industry predict that there will be an increase in investments in edge capacity to minimize latency and underpin personalized content transporting alongside custom security approaches. Believe us not, edge computing is going to end up in everything from your autonomous car to your smart toaster (yes, that's a thing) and more. Soon, your toaster will know exactly how burnt you want you toast to be!

TechDogs' Opinion:  While we didn’t think it was possible, edge computing will continue to grow tremendously, just like the phenomenal Beyonce. Additionally, edge computing will become increasingly crucial in harnessing, controlling and securing linked IoT (Internet of Thing) devices as they progress. In 2021, the big names, including IBM/Red Hat, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Microsoft, will invest heavily in edge, 5G and AI platforms. Climbing the wagon, even buyers will move their cloud strategy toward the edge to be more connected. Good things are happening, Jerry!

Trend 3: Organizations Need Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineering And Fast!

TechDogs-Trend 3: Organizations Need "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineering And Fast"!-2D Image Of Male And Female Characters As Scientists Studying Neural Connections, Programmers Writing Codes For Machine Brain- Artificial Intelligence To Power Cloud Computing By Improving Cloud Security And Unveil Valuable Business Insights By Analyzing Data In Real-Time
Think of Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as soul mates whose fates are forever intertwined.  While AI enables Cloud Computing to manage data, uncover insights and improving workflows, Cloud Computing expands AI's influence.

Usually, investing in AI requires highly skilled technicians, computing power and massive capital - are you ready Jerry? Show me the money! However, Artificial Intelligence is now being offered via cloud services, helping smaller companies implement and benefit from this technology without burning a hole in their pockets. Various industries are seamlessly integrating AI into their Cloud Computing infrastructure to enhance the efficiency of business operations.

Lowell McAdam, CEO of Verizon, says, "Cloud Computing is the third wave of the digital revolution." Needless to say, integrating it with AI will expedite its development and improve the cloud infrastructure significantly. Businesses will be able to scale, adapt and automate their cloud processes much quicker through AI. It will also add an additional layer of security to the cloud, as AI would help in detecting and eliminating issues before they cause harm.

Artificial Intelligence is not a buzzword anymore, it's a trend that businesses must embrace if they want to be successful - not just in 2021 but beyond. Three cheers for AI and Cloud Computing! Hip Hip Hurray!

TechDogs' Opinion: AI had Cloud Computing at the first Hello and their marriage is beneficial for the entire kingdom as their combination will allow organizations to maximize the benefits of both technologies. Cloud Computing will offer a cost-effective alternative to costly on-site hardware and software. At the same time, continuous data backup and recovery in a virtual environment makes it a dependable option to traditional installations. Simultaneously, AI will assist the cloud in managing data and gaining insights into information, which can subsequently be disseminated as system-wide learnings. Moreover, Artificial Intelligence will power Cloud Computing by improving cloud security and unveiling valuable business insights by analyzing data in real-time. It will further optimize cloud workflows and processes #AIAndCloudComputingLivedHappilyEverAfter.

Trend 4: The Rise Of Serverless Architecture

TechDogs-Trend 4: The Rise Of "Serverless Architecture"-2D Image of a Man Working In Data Center Room Hosting Cloud Server - Serverless Architecture Will Continue To Evolve, With Better Alternatives Such As Flexible Pay-As-You-Go Models And On-Demand Backend Services Becoming The New Normal
Startups: How do we work when enterprise-grade Cloud Computing services are so expensive?

Technology: Serverless architecture is the answer to your problems!

There is no denying that enterprise cloud is super expensive; serverless architecture solutions can help startups and smaller businesses gain a competitive edge by developing quickly without significant capital expenditure. Serverless infrastructure is one of the most talked-about trends of 2021 as it can not only scale automatically and rapidly but work on a pay-as-you-go model, which means businesses pay only on the cloud services they need.

Don't know what has serverless architecture got to do with Cloud Computing? Hold your horses; we are getting there.

Cloud Computing is related to serverless architecture, as it enables businesses to build and deploy applications without maintaining physical infrastructure, removing architectural engineering from the equation. See, we told you they are connected. With serverless architecture, businesses just have to enjoy their services while Cloud service providers handle all scaling and maintenance in exchange for a fair price.

The serverless architecture is in such high demand by startups that the industry is expected to grow 25 percent by 2025!

TechDogs' Opinion: Serverless architecture will continue to evolve, with better alternatives such as flexible pay-as-you-go models and on-demand backend services becoming the new normal. These serverless solutions will eliminate the need for an on-site server fully or partially; you'll only be charged for space and features you use, as well as the time you spend utilizing them. Isn’t that nice? Isn’t that just swell? Businesses will focus more on their products, services and customer experience due to not having to employ, train, manage, budget for and maintain a complete server. Help me help you, am I right?

Trend 5: Kubernetes And Containerization Will Work Together!

TechDogs-Trend 5: "Kubernetes And Containerization" Will Work Together!-2D Image of Female Character Using Building Blocks Concept As A Part Of Container Technologies - Kubernetes And Containers Are The Fundamental And Foundational Building Blocks
Container technologies, particularly Kubernetes, are gaining popularity among developers owing to their reliability and scalability. Like almost everything created by Google, Kubernetes is an open-source software created in 2014 and was also rated highly by IT decision-makers in a study conducted by the German IT consulting firm Avenga #GoogleRocks. Most importantly, the overall container technology was viewed as a future hope by 54% of respondents. #GoContainerTechnology!

Meanwhile, ask any IT professional to tell you what epic things Kubernetes has done for software development and they will say a lot - with eyes filled with tears of joy. Automatic container orchestration dramatically simplifies the development, testing and operation cycles, as well as any potential intermediary stages.

According to Tushar Katarki, Senior Manager, Red Hat Product Management, "Enterprises seek to empower application developers, data scientists, data analysts and other stakeholders to drive new applications and services fast. To achieve this, they need a self-service, cloud-like experience on any infrastructure or cloud using tools and technologies of their choice. Furthermore, they want to do it in an open-source environment with mostly Linux. Kubernetes and containers are the fundamental and foundational building blocks for the above."

TechDogs' Opinion: With no use of any crystal ball, we predict that in 2021, the sun will shine on containerization technology; simultaneously, Kubernetes and Cloud Computing will go hand-in-hand for 2021 as cloud platforms will continue to dominate over on-premises infrastructures. Container technology will also increase mobility across multiple cloud infrastructures by allowing companies to simplify hybrid and multi-cloud administration. Using containers and Kubernetes solutions will help businesses be more agile and ready to respond to changing conditions, such as a market shakeout or consolidation #WhoDoesntLikeThat.
