Space tourism, as Wikipedia defines it, is human space travel for recreational purposes. Orbital, suborbital and lunar space tourism are all distinct subsets of the space tourism industry. One company making strides in this arena is Virgin Galactic, founded by Richard Branson, with the goal of making commercial or public space travel a reality at a price that is affordable to the general public.

The business just stated that the final, crucial test for space tourism has been successfully performed, clearing the way for actual paying customers. The Unity 25 mission is the fifth spaceflight by the corporation. It was a "final assessment" flight that took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico and carried six Virgin Galactic employees to the rim of space, as reported by CNBC

“WE HAVE REACHED SPACE!” Virgin Galactic tweeted roughly 11 minutes later that the spacecraft landed smoothly.

Virgin Galactic is very adamant and optimistic about making space tourism a reality. The company is yet seemingly dodging bullets of bankruptcy, costs and the reliability of space travel.

The first successful spaceflight in 2021 came after almost 17 years of work and over $1 billion in investments. Before that, the spacecraft’s development saw several disasters, including a rocket engine explosion on the ground in 2007 that killed three employees of Virgin Galactic contractor Scaled Composites CNBC added to the story.

A report from Reuters recently stated that Virgin Orbit Holdings Inc (VORB.O), founded by billionaire Richard Branson, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after the business struggled to secure long-term funding following a failed launch in January. Issues keep piling at Virgin Galactic, despite their optimism and progressive innovations.
