Twitter is in the news again and this time, it's because of its new CEO, Linda Yaccarino.

Known for her negotiation skills and friendly personality, Yaccarino is a respected name in the advertising industry. Her appointment could help Twitter win back advertisers who have stopped spending on the platform since Elon Musk took over.

Yaccarino made her first comments about her new role on Saturday, a day after Musk announced her appointment. In a tweet from 14th May, Yaccarino thanked Musk for the opportunity and expressed her excitement about working together to transform the platform. She also welcomed new followers and encouraged them to share their feedback, adding that she was committed to building "Twitter 2.0" with their help. #NewTwitterInMaking

Yaccarino took to Twitter, "I've long been inspired by your vision to create a brighter future. I'm excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!" In a follow-up tweet, she added, "I'm not as prolific as @elonmusk (yet!), but I'm just as committed to the future of this platform."

On the other hand, Twitter's recent past has been turbulent, with Musk's vision for the platform taking many twists and turns. #ItsNotUsItsReports

According to a report, in March 2023, Musk announced that only accounts that subscribe to Twitter Blue would appear in the platform's main timeline but backtracked just a few days later. He also received pushback from media organizations after affixing "state-funded media" labels to their accounts without warning.

The same report sheds light on how in March 2023, Musk warned companies about the severe challenges of AI (Artificial Intelligence) through an open letter. Then some days later, it was reported that Musk invested millions to build his own powerful Large Language Model!

Not just that in December 2022, in a poll, Musk asked #Twitteratis whether he should step down as head of Twitter vowing to abide by the poll results. Users voted Musk out through the poll but he declined to step down. #MuskBeingMusk

Despite this history, Yaccarino seems inspired by Musk's vision and interviewed him last month at an advertising conference. She praised his work ethic and said she had "met her match." Nevertheless, it remains to be seen what changes Yaccarino will implement! #NewBeginnings
