HanesBrands Extends Wipro Partnership To Drive Digital Transformation

What Does HanesBrands’ And Wipro’s Extended Partnership Entail?

 
  • Through a press release published on its website, Wipro announced that it has been chosen by HanesBrands to drive its digital transformation further and will include focusing on enhancing business growth and boosting long-term profitability.

  • Wipro will be responsible for devising and defining HanesBrands’ cloud roadmap, as well as enabling the integration of business functions that will optimize operations and processes.

  • This extends to using next-gen tools and services to enhance product lifecycle processes and deliver faster time-to-market for HanesBrands.

  • Additionally, the deal will allow HanesBrands to leverage Wipro’s expertise and capabilities in cloud, data and analytics, application management, cybersecurity, intelligent automation, AI and consulting.

  • This deal builds on previous partnerships between the two companies.

  • The move comes soon after HanesBrands announced that it had entered a definitive agreement to sell the intellectual property (IP) and some operating assets of its Champion brand to Authentic Brands Group for a transaction value of $1.2 billion, which can rise to $1.5 billion based on performance factors.

  • HanesBrands’ portfolio consists of brands such as Hanes, Bonds, Maidenform and Bali.

  • Following the announcement of the extended partnership with HanesBrands, shares of Wipro increased by more than 3% and even became the top gainer on Nifty50.

  • On the same day of the announcement, Wipro also revealed it launched an on-premise GenAI solution with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. 

  • This was followed by news of a strategic partnership with GBST (Global Banking & Securities Transactions) to transform superannuation and wealth administration services.
