Generative AI and the Human Connection
Updated on Fri, Jan 27, 2023
Now though, Generative AI is moving into the domain of presentations and slides. This is a welcome move for businesses that find the need to make presentations regularly. Recently it was reported that Microsoft is looking to add OpenAI’s ChatGPT and other tools to PowerPoint. It is believed that Google may follow suit for Google Slides.
Tome, a startup based in San Francisco (led by Keith Peiris and Henri Liriani, who previously worked with Meta products) added DALL-E to its slide platform in the beta release, in November. Speaking after the recent release of new Generative AI features powered by GPT-3 Peiris said, “We built Tome to be a responsive, intelligent partner, not a static page,” adding, “So for us, weaving Generative AI into Tome was a no-brainer.”
Ahead of this, Beautiful AI released its product DesignerBot which is described as making “it easier than ever for non-designers to create a new presentation from scratch, regardless of the content.” As per the company, the product can create complete presentations that include 10 to 20 formatted slides including text, photos and other elements, all with a single text prompt.
The other important part of this technology is humans! Yes! While AI can create and generate business proposals and artistic designs, businesses that plan to integrate AI into their system require people who know how to successfully operate the AI tools.
Speaking to VentureBeat, Yoav Hornung (Head of Verticals & Innovation at Fiverr) said, “We’ve seen a trend of increasing searches for AI-related services. We’ve also started seeing more freelancers creating offerings that are related to the world of Generative AI, for the most recent tools like ChatGPT, GPT-3, Midjourney, Dall-E and Stable Diffusion.”
Research says that Fiverr has seen a surge of 1,400% in searches for AI-related services in the last six months alone! The substantial growth trend is also observed in companies looking to adopt or create products that use Generative AI engines as well as for skilled freelancers to help build AI-based applications.
Hornung added, “Up until now, proofreading an article was one thing and today, proofreading or editing an article that was generated by AI is different.”
