Overall Rating
In the world of startups, momentum often matters as much as ideas. Companies that show quick growth, real customers, and a clear plan stand out more today, especially as investors become careful about where they put their money.

ElevenLabs is quickly becoming one of the most closely watched names in voice AI, and its latest funding round shows why investors are paying attention.

TL;DR

  • ElevenLabs raised $500M at an $11B valuation.
  • The company plans to expand globally and go beyond voice.
  • Competition in voice AI is heating up fast.

The startup announced that it has raised $500 million in a new round led by Sequoia Capital, valuing the company at $11 billion. That valuation is more than three times higher than its previous round in January 2025. Sequoia partner Andrew Reed will also join ElevenLabs’ board as part of the deal.

The round saw strong participation from existing backers. Andreessen Horowitz quadrupled its investment, while Iconiq, which led the company’s last round, tripled its stake. Other returning investors include BroadLight, NFDG, Valor Capital, AMP Coalition, and Smash Capital.

New investors joining the cap table include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Evantic Capital, and Bond. ElevenLabs said it will reveal additional investors later in February, some of which may be strategic partners.

With this round, ElevenLabs has raised more than $781 million to date. The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate research and product development and to expand into international markets such as India, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, and Mexico.

Co-founder Mati Staniszewski also hinted that the company’s ambitions go well beyond voice. ElevenLabs is exploring agents that can handle multiple modalities and is looking more seriously at video. In January, the startup partnered with LTX to work on audio-to-video content.

“The intersection of models and products is critical – and our team has proven, time and again, how to translate research into real-world experiences. This funding helps us go beyond voice alone to transform how we interact with technology altogether. We plan to expand our Creative offering – helping creators combine our best-in-class audio with video and Agents – enabling businesses to build agents that can talk, type, and take action,” Staniszewski said.

The company is also showing strong business momentum. It ended last year with $330 million in ARR, and Staniszewski previously told that ElevenLabs jumped from $200 million to $300 million in ARR in just five months.

Investor interest in voice AI remains strong. Earlier this year, Deepgram raised $130 million at a $1.3 billion valuation, and Google brought on key talent from voice startup Hume AI, highlighting just how competitive and fast-moving the space has become.

Well, all signs point to voice AI becoming a core layer of future digital products, with startups and tech giants alike racing to define what comes next.
