Ant International’s WorldFirst World Card & Antom-Adobe Deal To Simplify Global Payments
Updated on Wed, Apr 16, 2025
To facilitate quicker and simpler transactions, financial technology companies are striving to offer streamlined services, dedicated apps, and innovative products that benefit business dealings, both B2B and B2C.
This is what leading global digital payment, digitization, and fintech provider Ant International is looking to do, through a series of moves that are aimed at simplifying global payments for businesses and other users.
World Card
World Card is a product by Ant International’s WorldFirst—an all-in-one digital cross-border payment and treasury account service for global businesses.
This newly launched virtual card, created in partnership with Mastercard, is designed to help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) grow by simplifying global transactions and lowering operational costs.
World Card comes with global coverage, spanning over 150 currencies across more than 210 countries and regions. Essentially, users can pay for purchases with their World Card anywhere MasterCard is accepted.
Furthermore, businesses can avoid paying foreign exchange fees for cross-border payments when using WorldFirst account balance for 15 major currencies—those used in the U.S., China, Europe, the U.K., Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and more. “The service covers most recurring business scenarios, ranging from digital marketing on e-commerce sites, software subscriptions, shipping, and logistics.”
WorldFirst will also allow users to create multiple cards for specific expenses, teams, or projects, and track all spending through a centralized dashboard.
When it comes to security, World Card uses 3DS/AVS transaction verifications, 24/7 real-time assistance, and spending limits to curb fraud, having obtained the highest-level certification of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
2025 will be a big year for WorldFirst’s World Card, as it will commence a full-scale rollout to markets across Asia, Europe, Oceania and Africa; enable support for Apple Pay and Google Pay; and introduce a physical World Card for places where digital payments aren’t possible—it will retain the digital version's benefits.
“WorldFirst enables business growth by delivering solutions featuring global coverage, secure transactions and operational efficiency—essential foundations for SMEs’ success in today's digital economy,” said Clara Shi, CEO of WorldFirst and VP of Ant International.
“We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Mastercard and industry leaders to pioneer innovative solutions like World Card, empowering SMEs and drive inclusive growth.”
Users can open a WorldFirst account for free in minutes, where payments are completed in a few hours, or seconds if made to other WorldFirst accounts.
Antom And Adobe
Antom, another subsidiary of Ant International, has partnered with creative software provider Adobe to offer Adobe customers in Asia “an optimized payment experience and tailored digital marketing solutions.”
Simply put, it will offer Adobe users a preferred payment option at checkout when purchasing products on Adobe’s website.
In the first phase, 8 new alternative payment options will hit 8 key Asian markets. This includes AlipayHK (Hong Kong SAR, China), DANA (Indonesia), GCash (the Philippines), Kakao Pay (South Korea), Momo (Vietnam), PayPay (Japan), Touch ‘n Go (Malaysia), and True Money (Thailand). Both companies plan to introduce additional payment methods such as credit cards, bank transfers, digital wallets, and more.
“Through this partnership, we aim to make Adobe's advanced tools more accessible to a broader customer base in high-growth markets," said Gary Liu, General Manager of Antom, Ant International.
The move comes as Adobe looks to optimize transaction flows, increase conversion rates, and enable fast, secure, and cost-effective payment settlement while enhancing the accessibility of Adobe’s products to creative professionals, businesses, and educational institutions.
“As our base of customers in Asia fast expands, we’re excited to announce our partnership with Antom to integrate localized payment options for our customers and unlock new growth opportunities in the various markets we’re expanding with Antom into,” said Matt Wegner, Vice President, Global Payments, at Adobe.
As a part of the strategic partnership, the two seek to bring Adobe into Antom’s A+ Rewards, an in-app digital marketing platform that connects brands with hundreds of millions of e-wallet users.
Do you think Ant International’s moves to simplify global payments will be a success? Do you think it will inspire other fintech companies to follow suit?
