GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- ArtPrize has returned to Grand Rapids this fall, transforming the city into a dynamic showcase of creativity. This year, in addition to the 1,100 artists taking part in the competition, ArtPrize is featuring three special exhibitions that highlight innovation, talent, and storytelling: Arborialis, Art of the Olympians, and Red Jeans Redemption.

Arborialis  is a breathtaking inflatable luminarium created by the internationally renowned UK-based company Architects of Air. Known for their spellbinding designs, Architects of Air have crafted an exhibit that blends vibrant hues, fluid architecture, and soothing sounds to create an otherworldly environment of wonder and tranquility. The immersive installation explores the relationship between humans and nature, combining sustainability, creativity, and sensory delight.

Art of the Olympians features internationally acclaimed Olympian and artist Roald Bradstock, known as the "Olympic Picasso." The centerpiece of his exhibit is "LA Rising - Together," a striking black-and-white charcoal painting composed of 2,028 rings, honoring Los Angeles' resilience and the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympic Games. Visitors can participate by coloring in the rings, embracing the interactive, inclusive spirit of Bradstock's "Olympism" art genre. The exhibit also includes "Together," a large multi-paneled piece created with high school students celebrating 100 years of winter sports.

Red Jeans Redemption , presented by Healing in Arts, is a powerful installation amplifying the voices of sexual trauma survivors. Pairs of red jeans, inscribed with handwritten survivor stories, invite visitors to pause, read, and reflect. The exhibit celebrates resilience, challenges stigma, and fosters empathy and cultural change through participatory engagement.

"ArtPrize is about celebrating creativity in all its forms," said Catlin Whitington, Executive Director of ArtPrize. "These special exhibitions allow us to highlight extraordinary artistic voices—from immersive environments to works by Olympians and socially engaged artists—making this year's event truly unforgettable."

ArtPrize 2025 is taking place from September 18 to October 4. Visitors are encouraged to explore all participating venues, vote for their favorite works, and attend the many special exhibitions and events throughout the city.
