WHO: Gerry Gebel, Head of Standards for Strata Identity, has more than 20 years of experience in requirements definition, architecture development and strategic planning for identity management projects with Fortune 500 corporations. He has been a senior executive with Axiomatics, a global provider of access control solutions, served as Vice President and Service Director with research firm Burton Group for nearly a decade, and started his career in the technology group at Chase Manhattan Bank (now part of JP Morgan Chase).

WHAT: According to one report most companies surveyed are using two or more public clouds, which creates significant identity management challenges since each cloud platform, including AWS, Google, Microsoft Azure, etc., uses a proprietary identity system with its own policy language. All of which are incompatible with each other. Meanwhile, each application must be hardcoded to work with a specific identity system. In this session Gerry will discuss how multi-cloud environments have created a fragmented state of access policy, why legacy identity standards do not address the current trend toward distributed systems and data, and how a new cloud identity standard can normalize and unify access policy.
