What Is Disintermediation?
The world has become a much more prominent place. Whether it's a business, a consumer product, or information about something you need to know, there are always new ways to connect with what you want. How can you tell if the person on the other end of the line is who they say they are? How do you know if that car you're looking at on Craigslist is really in tip-top shape? That's where disintermediation comes in. Disintermediation is when you cut out the middleman and go straight to the source. It's when you interact directly with your customers instead of having an intermediary do it. The Internet is a great place to buy things, especially when you want to shop around for the best deals. What if you could skip over all the intermediaries and directly connect to the source? Disintermediation is a concept that describes how individuals, organizations, and companies can take advantage of the Internet to cut out the intermediary and deal directly with users or end consumers. This allows them to save money on servicing customers because they don't have to pay for store overhead or salespeople who are just there to take your money and get paid by someone else. It's also great for buyers to get more bang for their buck! With high market transparency, buyers can find out exactly what's going on behind the scenes at any given time, and this can help them get better deals on everything from cars to electronics. As another to the same problem alternative, they can also buy goods and stuff directly from wholesalers (who may be able to offer even more competitive pricing). The Internet has made disintermediation possible, making the Internet world hassle and strain-free. Making the world a better place for everyone!
