What Is Data Center Virtualization?
Have you ever wondered how the heck data center virtualization works? It isn't the same, but It's a complicated process, but we're here to demystify it. Let's start with some basics. Data center virtualization is designing, developing and deploying a data center on virtualization and cloud computing technologies. It primarily enables virtualizing physical servers in a data center facility, storage, networking, and other infrastructure devices and equipment. Data center virtualization usually produces a virtualized, cloud and collocated virtual/cloud data center. Virtualization takes place at the operating system level, so when applications are run on a server that has been virtualized, they can run concurrently on multiple processors rather than one processor at a time as they would on non-virtualized hardware. Cloud computing is similar to data center virtualization because it also involves storing data remotely rather than locally on servers or hard drives. Still, while cloud computing allows users access to software applications through the Internet instead of installing them on their computer's hard drives using software such as Microsoft Office 365 or Google Docs, data centers use network cables. Data center virtualization is like a dream come true for anyone who wants to take control of their IT infrastructure. You can use it to create new data centers on your existing physical infrastructure, so you don't have to spend millions of dollars on new servers and software. You can also use it to host multiple virtualized data centers on the same physical infrastructure, which allows you to run various applications and organizations simultaneously. In short, data center virtualization lets you do more with less and better!
