Accessibility testing is your friend. Do you know how you always try to make digital content more accessible? Do you want to ensure that it's easy for people with disabilities to read, use, and interact with? Well, that's accessibility testing! It's all about ensuring that your digital content meets the needs of people with disabilities. That means if you have a website, you should ensure it works on screen readers for blind people. Or, if your email is full of images and links, ensure it's easy for them to be read aloud by screen readers. When you do accessibility testing before launch, you can ensure that all your content is accessible before launching it! This way, no one gets left out or has trouble accessing what they need from your site or app. In the past, accessibility testing was essentially a manual process. An expert would analyze the site and its content, looking for issues that would make it problematic or impossible for people with disabilities to use. Today, automated testing tools can quickly assess a website's accessibility. However, many of these tools cannot evaluate the general user experience from various perspectives (such as how well pages have been optimized for screen readers). And even if an automated tool does provide this type of information, it may not be able to flag pages that require additional attention. A hybrid approach that uses both automated test tools and manual methodologies often provides the most helpful assessment. A website, for example, would be evaluated for criteria such as how well pages have been optimized for screen readers and flagged if further action is required by human testers who can look at each flagged page in detail and determine whether or not it should be fixed immediately or left alone until later on when there is time available to make changes more quickly.

Unified Computing System (UCS)

When you're at work, you can't help but notice that there are many different types of servers. You've got your Windows NT 4.0 machines, your Windows 2003 machines, your Linux machines… the list goes on and on! What if we could consolidate all of these servers into one system? What if merging all those machines with networking, storage and virtualization platforms? Well, that's called UCS: the unified computing system. So how does UCS work? It's basically like a family tree: UCS comprises multiple components that comprise an entire platform. It includes servers (servers are where applications run), network switches (used to connect devices on a network), storage networks (used to store data), and storage arrays (a logical grouping of physical disks). It's a given that when you buy a new computer, it won't be compatible with the one you already have. You'll have to go out and buy new software and probably new hardware as well. What if that didn't have to be the case? What if you could upgrade your existing computer without going through all that hassle? That's what Cisco is promising with its UCS system. They've developed a way for you to add more processing power, memory, or storage to your current set-up without worrying about compatibility issues or buying new software. The UCS system is made up of three main components: The fabric interconnects (which are like little routers), the fabric extenders (which act as switches for the interconnects), and the blade servers themselves (which contain all the actual computing power). Each component talks directly to the other features through an internal network connection called "Fabric," which allows them to communicate seamlessly without any problems whatsoever.
