You might be thinking, "Whoa! That's some fancy stuff!" Well, it is. But stay calm. We're just talking about computers helping humans do their jobs. A computer-assisted review (CAR) is a document review process that utilizes software to review or evaluate information. For example, computer-assisted study is used in e-discovery, where human decision-makers search for specific information from many documents. CAR is also known as technology-assisted review. Imagine you're the owner of a small Company. You could hire an accountant and spend hours pouring over your financial records. Alternatively, you could use a computer program that automatically aggregates all necessary information into one easy-to-read report, including your finances, sales growth, industry trends, etc. That's what computer-assisted review is like. It's the automatic aggregation of the information someone wants, retrieving the needle from the haystack by looking through many digital documents and finding the points that apply to someone's search. Why would you want to use a computer? That is the question you might be asking yourself. Isn't that what we have people for? Well… yes, but here's where CAR comes in: CAR allows you to quickly identify relevant documents and sort them based on your criteria while also allowing you to narrow down your search by allowing you to focus on only certain areas or types of information that might be relevant to your case without having to sift through everything manually before even knowing what those things might be!

It analyses the probabilities of all possible subsequent states and selects the one with the highest likelihood. It's like playing around with different routes on a map and picking the one that offers the most potential. When dealing with noisy or missing data, the Viterbi algorithm shines. It can account for data uncertainty while determining the most probable sequence of states. Viterbi algorithm is a dynamic programming algorithm that is effective and optimal. This is the optimal solution to the problem because it quickly identifies the most likely sequence.
