The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is going to have a significant impact on driving global workforce reporting standards in the near future. HR teams, while not determining the need for CSRD compliance, are vital for workforce reporting, which affects business value, reputation, and transparency. The CSRD includes 12 reporting standards, with two overarching and ten topical. HR input is crucial for disclosures on an organization's workforce and value chain workers, focusing on governance and diversity, and material sustainability matters. Identifying material sustainability matters involves assessing working conditions (employment security, wages, health, safety) and equal treatment (pay equity, inclusion, training) from both financial (outside-in) and impact (inside-out) perspectives.
